Real estate, jobs, tourism all on positive track
On most metrics, the Cairns economy is relatively strong - more people are in jobs again this month, real estate and rental prices continue to edge higher and tourism continues to rebound from the impacts of ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper.
The key dampener remains the sharp decline in residential building approvals over recent months - will little end in sight.
